Why I Like Surrealism .
I have realized that, When I see a painting that I
think is real art, it is usually because it surprised
me someway. An unusual perspective or
juxtaposition of objects for example. There are
many other ways works of art have grabbed me.
Beautiful and subtle , yet unexpected color is
another example. I have often felt transported to
somewhere else , looking at work by a master.
Art is often very predictable, So I want to
transport viewers to a different reality than they
are familiar with. Hopefully an entertaining place
that they will want to revisit. My goal is to express
this altered reality in future works more
convincingly than I have before. If a viewer while
looking at my art said, like Dorothy," Well Toe-
toe, this ain't Kansas." That would be fine with me.
